Maynard James Keenan Expands Old Town Empire with 'Queen B Sushi'
By Verde Valley Source Staff | September 23, 2026

Old Town Cottonwood's culinary scene just gained a major new player. TOOL and A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan, alongside his wife Jennifer, has officially opened Queen B Sushi in the heart of the historic district.

Located just around the corner from the couple's Queen B Vinyl Café, which launched in 2024, the highly anticipated sushi restaurant officially opened its doors earlier this month on September 4.

The kitchen is being spearheaded by Culinary Director Chef Brett Vibber, known for his previous work at the acclaimed Roka Akor. While the Keenans had originally considered adding a sushi menu directly to their vinyl and coffee shop, they ultimately decided to pause the idea and launch a dedicated standalone space once they secured the right chef for the project.

The menu features a robust selection of traditional maki, sashimi, and nigiri options. Further tying the new venture into their expansive Verde Valley cottage industry, Queen B Sushi naturally pairs its dishes with wine selections from the Keenans' own local Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards.

"Although I've been enjoying sushi since my days in Boston, circa 1987, my first Japanese tour wasn't until 2000 with A Perfect Circle," Keenan noted in a statement ahead of the opening, describing his experiences with authentic Japanese cuisine as "eye-opening and mind-blowing".

The new restaurant marks another significant investment by the Keenans in the Verde Valley's hospitality and viticulture sectors, further cementing Cottonwood's reputation as a premier destination for both food and wine enthusiasts. Reservations are highly recommended for those looking to secure a table at Old Town's newest dining hotspot.
